ABOUT OUR CLUB
St John’s Old Collegians Football Club is part of the Victorian Amateur Football Club Association (VAFA), and we are heavily focused on providing a family friendly environment. This means that players are not paid for their services; we do not charge entry fees at our games; and we do not sell alcohol for consumption during matches.
We are extremely proud that these rules, combined with great committed supporters and players, provide the perfect family club environment. The drawback to this kind of club forgoes income streams that other local clubs sometimes rely on.
By not selling alcohol during games and not charging entry fees, we look for community support, through Sponsorships and Memberships. Your support will mean that St John’s can continue to provide a place for the whole community to enjoy and be proud of.
The St John’s Old Collegian Football Club aims to provide an opportunity for the youth of the area to participate in Australian Rules Football while enhancing their health and well being. All players are considered equal, and as such our club united to the ultimate goal of winning Premierships.
The St John’s Old Collegians’ Football Club was established in 1991, when it made its debut in the Victorian Amateur Football Association. This year we will celebrate our 25th Completed Season as a Football Club. As the club’s name suggests, many of our players and supporters studied at St John’s Regional College in Dandenong although it is not exclusive, with many players recruited from outside the school. These players and committee will work across three teams this year – Seniors, Reserves & Under 19’s.
With our home ground located in Dandenong, we attract healthy support from both the school and local Dandenong and Casey Communities who have seen us win 2 premierships in the last 10 years.
Our club colours, which are worn with great pride, are gold, green and black. St John’s Old Collegians’ are the only Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) club in the Dandenong area.
As we enter season 2018 under a new committee and an exciting coaching staff - we hope to continue to thrive for the long term. We hope to continue to provide a football club that is inclusive and offers a safe & enjoyable place or members of our community to play our great game.
